Session 024

Session 24:

During battle with the Mother Crab lasted less than a minute - new magical limits were tested, and the Bloodsworn utilized each other to great effect to quickly take down the threat.

The Bloodsworn took the time to harvest any crab meat they could, and proceeded on their original quest

Based on what they saw from "Wanted" poster, "Dez" was considered a victim, and so Dez decided to go alone to the gates to pledge his safety

--- (The Bloodsworn are separated: Dax, Prifi, and Dane make their way to the old Bandit Camp while Nysha and Dez return to Port Liore) ---

Nysha is no stranger to the law, and knows a coastal way into the Guild... however, it is high tide, making is more difficult than before. Nysha hears the same Republic Inspector from days ago asking questions to the local Sailors about the whereabouts of her and her companions, as well as a Republic Guard who seems to be gazing specifically on Dane's image

Nysha expertly moves from ship to ship, using the tides to hide her foot prints on the beach, and the sound of the crashing waves to hide the noise - Nysha knows the area well, and making her way past the bored and disinterested Guards was easy

Meanwhile, Dez approaches the Western Gates, and the Guards identify her. He is escorted to Governor Olipas for questioning. Olipas asks Dez and his companions to face trial if they are truly innocent.
The Governor attempts to seduce Dez, but Dez reinforces their friendship - Olipas, though slightly embarrassed, understands, and offers Dez 300GP to leave the Port and find a new life elsewhere, instead of giving the bounty to another. It comes clear that Olipas is not the one who issued this bounty, nor does he have power of it.. yet, he refuses to say specifically who does
Nysha makes her way to the iron gates, and quickly speaks the password: "Condor"

The old man opens the gate, and closes it behind her. She quickly navigates the complex tunnel of caves under the Port to Burrow Master Yolandi, as ordered

Yolandi, in her usual fashion, is playful, and offers a high-five to Nysha in Mage Hand

Nysha returns the gesture, as Yolandi explains how she is not surprised the Nysha would discover such power... a gift for High Elves from Erevan Llesere, a childhood legend

Yolandi asks if it is true, that Hlal exists in the mountains...

After Nyx express sass on why she is concerned about a God that isn't hers, she is met with equal sass and humor, and inspects the head of the slain Lilly Two-Pint. Yolandi gives a snarky look, and tells Nyx to throw her head into the ocean for all she cares, and it just happy she is dead.

Yolandi explains that by killing Lilly Two-Pint, she has made a very clear message to the rest of the underground world: that anyone who betrays the Guild is met with a swift death...

However, Yolandi acknowledges that her and her new companions are on to something larger than the matters of the Guild, and there is no point in serving the outcasted members of Republic society if there is no Republic left. Nyx is released of her duties to her Burrow, in lieu of something greater. She is given a Raven Ring, and is instructed to find a Human man named Reynnall, who is the Burrow Master somewhere in the small mining village in North Riverbend. He is growing too old to care for the affairs of the Burrow, and Yolandi is sending Nyx as his Apprentice to one day take over the Burrow herself.

The man doesn't have long left to live, so Yolandi recommends she appear no later than a year from now.

Yolandi reveals that Reynnall is one of the few remaining Crusaders before the formation of the Order, and may be of use in their new quest to discover the meaning of an ancient evil power that threatens the realm.

Sometime in the conversation, Yolandi reveals her cropped ears, hidden behind her hair, stating she is too of a High Born Elf Family, and was exiled for loving a Dark Elf.

Nyx is given a Republic Bank Note for 1,000 GP - which can be redeemed at any Republic Bank, or used to trade with another individual of the same value.
